10 Grand Central
New York City, New York
ART DECO NEW YORK
An iconic Ely Jacques Kahn building, 10 Grand Central embodies Kahn's New York Style. Our challenge was to create an art program that would honor the buildings history and draw inspiration from Grand Central Station's Art Deco Era.
Upon exiting the elevators you are welcomed into the space with two large scale paintings by Rachel Hearn. The artworks are inspired by the favored flowers of the of the 1930's employing a painterly approach that honors traditional techniques
In the Meeting Galleries we engaged Sanne Terweij to bring her creative chemistry artwork as a balance between timeless oxidized metal sculptures and the repeating patterns of guastavino tiles. The art is composed of hand-cut copper pieces brought to life by blending authentic aging and patina techniques.
